March 2008 - Easter Weekend U14s WIN FILEY CUP FOR THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING On a cold and snowy Easter Sunday the U14s travelled to Bridlington for the UK Football Tours one day Filey Cup. Originally it was intended to be 11-a-side but due to the weather the format was changed to 5-a-side indoor. January 2008 SOCIAL EVENTS SUB COMMITTEE It has been decided at the January committee meeting to re-introduce the social events sub-committee to organise our social calendar. Ideally one PARENT from each team will step forward to attend what is envisaged as roughly one meeting a month to discuss, organise and plan this year's social events. Anyone (or two) interested in taking an active part in this side of the club please make yourself known to your team manager or contact either me (Malcolm Connor) or Graham Shreeves soonest. Malcolm Connor 12 & 13 May 2007 THE COTGRAVE TOURNAMENT This weekend saw the annual Toton FC outing to the Cotgrave Tournament for the U7s, U8s, U10s, U11s and U13s. On the Saturday the U7s, U11s and U13s played, with the two U11s teams and one of the U13s teams losing out at the semi final stage and the second U13 team losing out in the Plate final. On a very wet Sunday two U8 and two U10 teams took to the field. Both U10s teams made it through the group stages, one team finishing top of their group, but falling at the last 16 stage. The U8s came away winners of the Plate Trophy. Well done lads. 29 March 2007 U13s SECURE A PLACE IN THE REGIONAL FINAL OF THE TESCO U13 CUP Winning the Notts FA Challenge Shield, sponsored by Tesco U13 Cup, secured the team a place in the regional finals on Saturday 28 April 2007 at the University of Central England Sports Ground, Moor Lane, Birmingham. Teams from 12 counties will compete in a league format, with the top scoring team going through to the English National Final at Stoke City on Saturday 12 May 2007. The winners of the English National Final will then progress to the UK Home International Final, playing against National winning teams from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales for the chance to become UK Champions. This will be held on Sunday 20 May at the City of Manchester Stadium. January 2007 - I OWE MY LIFE TO THEM November 2006 TOTON FC PLAYER MAKES DEBUT IN THE PREMIERSHIP Nicky Law played for Toton FC in seasons 1995/96 - 1996/97 -1997/98 at u/8 u/9 and u/10 level. He then left to join Chesterfield academy where he has played until recently where it emerged he had signed for Sheffield United. In a recent game v Bolton Wanderers Nicky Jnr came on for the last 25 minutes as one of three substitutes, when Sheffield United were losing 0-2 and helped in the eventual 2-2 draw. Last week Nicky played his first full game for the first team against Manchester United. What a full debut! Congratulations from everyone at Toton FC to Nicky Jnr on his achievment and to his mum and dad (Nicky Law Snr, former Arsenal, Notts County, Chesterfield, player and Manager) and brothers Zac and Josh. read more Friday 8 September 2006 YEL Registration cards received for all teams Carlton Tournament - Sunday 3 September 2006 The under 8s came away winners from the Carlton tournament. This season will see them playing for the first time in the Young Elizabethan League. Rolls Royce Tournament - Monday 28 August 2006 After coming top of their league without conceding a game and conceding only one goal Toton FC's Under 13 came away winners of the Rolls Royce Tournament for the second year running. Rolls Royce Tournament - Sunday 27 August 2006 In extra time Liam Tuck made a brillant run and Ben Rowland scored the winner for the U15s. The Semi final was decided on penalties Toton winning 3-2 after a save from goalkeeper Dean Matthews. UNDER 12S ON TOUR 27 & 28 May 2006 - UK FOOTBALL TOURS - MABLETHORPE Toton Under 12's entered the UK Football Tours East Coast Cup, a two day tournament in which they played seven group games, winning 6 and drawing the other The final was won 5-0 with Liam Woodward scoring a superb volley from 20 yards to finish his hat trick. The squad was as follows: Danny Brown (GK) Jack Gadsby, Kieron Goodley, Alex Badder, Matt Buckley, Travis Munn, Liam Woodward and Declan Carney. 4 JUNE 2006 - CALVERTON TOURNAMENT The following week saw the U12s entering two teams into the Calverton Tournament, both teams did well with the white team, after qualifying top of their group, narrowly losing to division one champions Carlton Town in the knockout stages. The Maroon team however topped their group and progressed to the final beating East Valley United 4 -0. 18 JUNE 2006 - BRIMWOOD UTD TOURNAMENT
Two weeks later the Under 12s travelled to Chesterfield to take part in
the Brimwood united 6-a-side tournament. We had six other teams in our
group, all of which we had never played before in any type of competition.
After a slow start we managed to top the group drawing one game and winning
five. after winning both our quarter and semi final matches, we beat one
of the local teams 2 - 0 in the final
