5 April 2008 - Home to Heanor Staffs
A great way to end the season with a 5-0 win. The result was never in doubt and we controlled the game from start to finish as we have in most of our games all year. 14 league wins on the bounce is a superb effort by everyone. I thought that we were at a boxing match rather than a football match at times but again we stood firm and yet again our keepers didn't touch the ball. Goalscorers were Jamie Woodward 1, Kane Parsons 1 (golden boot winner), Charlie Sheppard 1, Joe Smith 1 and Nathen Topps 1 man of the match went to the whole team.
29 March 2008 - Away to Stanton Ilkeston
They thought it was all over, it is now. Well done lads CHAMPIONS with a game to spare. A comfortable win at Stanton by 8-0 saw the league title confirmed and it was well deserved. You are the best side in the league and have finally proved it. Goalscorers today were Nathan Topps 3, Jordan Norton 1, Oliver Bowler 1, Oliver Tomlinson 1, Anthony Peach 1 and man of the match Jamie Woodward 1. One more game to go next week and we will crack open the champagne. A fantastic effort all season boys you have made me and all your parents so proud. WELL DONE AGAIN.
2 March 2008 - Away to Cotmanhay Cobras
With the championship almost sewn up we fielded a much changed side for this one. On a bitterly cold and windy day we adapted ourselves much better and raced into a 4-0 half time lead. Cotmanhay got one back after the restart but we added another 3 goals without reply to run out 7-1 winners. Goalscorers were Ben Tate 2, Anthony Peach 2, Jamie Woodward 1, Oliver Bowler 1 and Jordan Norton 1, man of the match went to Jake Rattan. 1 point at Stanton next week and we've done it lads well played.
15 March 2008 - Away to Allestree Juniors
A great result today lads and this has probably won you the championship. All accross the pitch we dominated the play and man of th match Kane Parsons netted twice with 2 well taken goals to send us in 2-0 up at half time. The second half was much the same and we never really looked in any trouble. We were playing football in their half and were coasting to victory. Kane bagged his hat-trick in the dying minutes pouncing on a goalkeeping error to round off another great day. Keep your feet on the ground and carry it on next week. The party has begun.
8 March 2008 - Away to Allestree Juniors Colts
This was always going to be a tough high pressure game with a win almost guaranteeing us the title. Kailem Brough opened the scoring with a well taken goal from the edge of the box. We scored on the stroke of half time when Oliver Bowler was brought down in the box and got up to score the penalty himself. To be honest the game should have been won by half time but even though we were in control Allestree got one back and the last 10 minutes were a little nervy, but we held firm for a 10th win on the bounce. MOTM went to Nathan Topps.
1 March 2008 - Home to Cotmanhay Cobras
The result speaks for itself so I won't go into detail. Goalscorers were man of the match Kane Pasrsons 4, Jordan Norton opened his account with a superb hat-trick, Miles Smith 2, goalkeeper Harry Keenan 2 (oh he did play outfield for the last 15 minutes), Oliver Bowler 1, Jamie Woodward 1, Joe Smith 1 and Ben Tate opened his account with probably the goal and move of the game heading home an Oliver Bowler cross from 6 yards. An all round excellent display, you never know you might get a smile out of me yet. Just go on and win the championship you all deserve it.
16 February 2008 - Away to Duffield Dynamo Utd
A slow start to the game but we stamped our authority on the game after 10 minutes with a superbly taken solo goal from Kailem Brough lobbing the ball over the keeper after a great run. We survived a couple of scares and were thankful for 2 good saves by Harry in goal. The second goal came with the last kick of the half when Nathan Topps netted with a well struck shot from the edge of the box. The second half was totally dominated by us and we got 1 more from Kailem and the other was a good strike from Jamie Woodward. Another good away day for Toton and may it long continue. Man of the match was shared by Nathan Topps and Kailem Brough.
2 February 2008 - Away to West Bridgford Rhinos - FA Shield Quarter Finals
Although the result was disappointing our performance was not. Rhinos went into a 3-0 half time lead by playing to what seemed like their only strength, the long ball up to their what seemed like 15 year old striker and he did the rest. We played some really attractive football at times and to be fair deserved something out of the game. The Toton goals came from Kailem Brough and Kane Parsons. Man of the match was Charlie Sheppard. There aren't many teams that can play attractive football and keep their shape as well but we can . Heads up and lets go to Allestree next week with a positive attitude and get back to winning ways.
26 January 2008 - Away to Mickleover All Stars
This was not one of our better days at the office and has to be said we came down to their level at times. It is nice though that we can sit down and reflect on the game and our performance having won 4-1. This means we can tick another game off the list in our countdown to possibly a championship winning season as no one can stop us now if we win our remaining games. We must improve on today if we want to reach the shield semi final next week. Goalscorers were Kane Parsons 1,Miles Smith 1,Anthony Peach 1, and man of the match Nathan Topps 1.
12 January 2008 - Home to AFC Vernon - FA Shield
This was to be our toughest test so far this season and it certainly turned out that way. The first half was fairly even with Toton playing the ball well through midfield and Vernon looking to catch us on the break. The second half was a different story and we found ourselves camped in the Vernon half. Harry in goal became a virtual spectator as we pushed for that elusive goal and you had the feeling 1 would be enough. We hit the post and Jamie Woodward hit the bar from 20yards but he scored what proved to be the winner from the edge of the box with 15 minutes left. Man of the match went to Oliver Tomlinson who played most of the game with a twisted knee and was still able to produce the goods. This was an awesome team performance and puts us into the last 8 what can I say lads but well done again. You are a pleasure to watch.
5 January 2008 - Home to Duffield Dynamo Utd
After 4 weeks with no fixture and Duffield on a good run we needed a good performance and certainly got one. We led 3-0 at half time and were very comfortable all over the pitch dominating everything. Although we made numerous substitutions in the second half and had players playing out of position we scored a further 7 goals to round off a brilliant 10 - 0 win. Goalscorers were Kane Parsons 3, Oliver Bowler 2, Kailem Brough 2, Miles Smith 1, Joe Smith 1, Jamie Woodward 1. Man of the match went to Reece Whaley. A super start to 2008 well done lads confidence is on a massive high but we must not get carried away and we I am sure will get our reward at the end of the season.
1 December 2007 - Away to East Valley United - FA Shield
This was a good cup tie played in very windy conditions. East Valley had the wind behind them in the first half and went in 2-0 up at the break scoring a penalty which Harry got a hand to and an own goal. The second half was a different story and we scored 4 superb goals. The first was an overhead kick by Kailem Brough. We piled on the pressure and man of the match Oliver Bowler scored a 25 yard free kick to level the scores. Jamie Woodward put us in front with a brilliant volley from the edge of the box but the best was saved till last when Oliver Bowler fired a 30 yard free kick into the top corner to round off another great win. That puts us into round 4 well done again lads
24 November 2007 - Home to Bramcote
This was a fantastic result for us and boy is revenge sweet. Although we had our worst performance in the 4-2 defeat earlier this season Bramcote met an in-form Toton team on a good run. In an hour of football Harry in goal never had a save to make and even went up for a corner in the dying minutes. 2 goals a piece from Kane Parsons and Kailem Brough and 1 from Miles Smith made today a GREAT day. Oliver Tomlinson won our man of the match and I have to say was superb and never put a foot wrong - what an asset he is proving to be. A fantastic effort all round lads cheers.
17 November 2007 - Away to Heanor Staffs
This
game proved that no team whatever their league position should be taken lightly.
Although we controlled the game and had 90%of the play we came up against a
stubborn defence and a keeper in great form. Our man of the match Oliver Bowler
opened the scoring after 10 minutes scoring direct from a corner. Heanor's only
chance of the game resulted in a goal from a hotly disputed corner just before
the break. The 2nd half was one way traffic but we could not break Heanor down
until 2 minutes into injury when Kailem Brough netted the winner from close
range. Well done lads for sticking at it.
10 November 2007 - Home to Codnor Boys 'B'
A superb all round performance sealed a much needed 3 points against one of the title contenders. We went in front mid way through the first half when Kane Parsons latched onto a brilliant through ball from Anthony Peach. Codnor equalised just before half time from the penalty spot. The second half saw us create numerous half chances and new signing Miles Smith had a goal ruled out for offside before Oliver Bowler put us in front with a superb solo effort with 7 minutes left. Jamie Woodward made it 3-1 with 2 to go scoring from outside the box. Oliver Tomlinson continues to impress at centre half but man of the match went to Oliver Bowler. Keep it up at Heanor next week lads you are playing some great football.
28 October 2007 - Home to Belper Town - Cup
A very disappointing result and very hard to swallow. This was a game that we dominated for long periods, hit the post twice and missed numerous chances. Our 1st divsion opponents certainly knew they had been in a game and completed their smash and grab with 2 well taken goals and conceded that the game should have been out of their reach by half time. Unlucky lads. Man of the match was Micheal Thomas
20 October 2007 - Home to Stanton Ilkeston 'B'
This turned out to be a very one sided affair. Jamie Woodward and Kane Parsons both netted hat tricks and Reece Whaley and new signing Oliver Tomlinson both got 1 each. Credit to Stanton for keeping the score to 8 it could have and should have been a lot more. Well done lads lets keep the run going against Belper in the cup next week. Man of the match went to the whole team.
13 October 2007 - Away to Codnor Boys 'B'
In a must win game to stay in touch with the leaders we got off to the worst possible start going a goal down in the first 2 minutes. We showed great character and started to play some very attractive football and were rewarded just before the break when Kailem Brough steered in a glancing header at the far post to send us in level at the break.Codnor didn't cause us too many problems and we were doing all the pressing. Kailem scored his second and what proved to be the winner, by cutting inside the fullback and firing an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net. New signing Oliver Tomlinson impressed at centre half and should prove to be an asset to the squad. Man of the match was Anthony Peach. Well done lads we really needed this one.
6 October 2007 - Home to Allestree Juniors
Although this was a big improvement on last week we have to start taking our chances. For 70% of the game we played the better football and created 3 or 4 very good goalscoring opportunities but wasted them all. Allestree grew in confidence and took the game with 2 well taken goals although unfortunately from our own mistakes at the back (we have to tighten up). Man of the match was Kailem Brough for his non stop effort.
22 September 2007 - Away to Bramcote
Too many of our stronger players weren't up for this one and we were not strong enough. I know we won the first 2 games and confidence was high but we should not have lost this game. The next one is against second in the league so lets be there on time and come focused as this is a must win game to stay in touch at the top. Man of the match was Harry Keennan and our goalscorers were Jamie Woodward and Kailem Brough.
15 September 2007 - Home to Mickleover All Stars
Although we were camped out in the Mickleover half and creating chance after chance we didn't find the back of the net until 5 minutes from the break when man of the match Reece Whaley scored from close range. The second half was much of the same as the Toton onslaught continued and sure enough the Mickleover defence finally caved in under the severe pressure. New striker Kailum Brough and Jamie Woodward both scored superb hat tricks and Joe Smith rounded off the rout with a last minute solo effort. Another fantastic effort with every member of the squad taking part. Well done again lads.
8 September 2007 - Home to Allestree Juniors
A cracking game of football played in good spirit by both teams. Toton enjoyed the better of the first half and to be fair could have gone in 3-0 to the good but Allestree held firm and made 3 superb goal line clearances. The second half was far more even and Allestree created 3 one on one chances and our new keeper Harry Keenan kept it at 0-0 by saving all 3. With only 5 minutes to go Jamie Woodward scored the winner from close range converting an Anthony Peach cross. Well done lads this type of performance will take you a long way keep it up. Man of the match was Nathan Topps.
